SENSEI TONY GRAY
4TH DAN - CHIEF INSTRUCTOR (B.K.D.I) & NATIONAL COACH (K.D.I)
Sensei Tony Gray 4th Dan started Karate in 1984 aged 15 at the Aldborough Hatch Ishinryu Karate Club under Sensei’s Cecil Hackett 5th Dan former 2 x world games Champion & British International and Sensei Dave Webster 5th Dan Tony graded to 2nd Kyu, and was then advised to train at the Atherton Sports Centre, East London under the Instruction of Former British, European and World Team Champion Sensei Tyrone Whyte 6th Dan. Tony attained his Shodan 1st Dan 1992, Nidan 2nd Dan 1995, Sandan 3rd Dan 1999 & Yondan 4th Dan in 2003 Tony was a Westminster Council registered night club door supervisor in central London for over 4 years. During this time he started training on the Senior E.K.G.B all styles National Squad and regularly fought for a place in the Senior English and British Karate Team being selected in 1995 for a match against the World Team Champions France in Bordeaux, And continued to compete Internationally for several years in European, world cup & World Championships.

SENSEI CARL LINDLEY
5TH DAN - SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
Sensei Carl Lindley 5th Dan, is the chairman of the K.D.I. He is a regular guest instructor at the Barking Dojo, In Blake Avenue, Barking, Essex. He started Karate 1975 in Shotokan under Sensei’s Bob Hitchens & Phil Duvall at the Preston Shotokan Club, then at the famous ‘Red Triangle’ Club in Liverpool. Sensei Lindley attained his (Shodan) black belt in 1981 under Sensei Andy Sherry 8th Dan one of the first Karate-ka in the UK to be graded to (Shodan) black belt in 1966. Sensei Lindley is a former British Police Karate champion in Kata & Kumite, and has won many open championship medals over the last 25 years or so. Carl has trained with many of today’s legends in Karate, including Masters Kanazawa, Enoeda and Kawazoe, Andy Sherry, Bob Pointon, Greg Wallace, Sensei David Ticky Donovan, Tyrone Whyte and many more. A traditionalist at heart, he is a true Karate-ka with real spirit. Sensei Lindley has also been Sensei Tony Gray’s training partner for over 12 years. He was awarded his 5th Dan by Sensei Tyrone Whyte in 2005, and is a Chief Inspector in the Metropolitan Police Service.
Sensei Carl is currently the President of the E.K.F. English Karate Federation 2007\8.

Kata & Kumite wins over the years but is known for his excellent Kata, Dave is also a English Qualified squash level 3 coach

SENSEI JOHN MATHIEU
4TH DAN - SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
Sensei John started training in Ishinryu at Portway dojo 1977 under Sensei Tyrone Whyte & Sensei Karl Finn.
Sensei gained his 1st Dan in 1982 from Sensei Ticky Donovan O.B.E. 8th Dan.
He has won a bronze medal in the Austrian open, silver and bronze medals in the E.K.G.B nationals a team bronze medal at the E.K.G.B. Nationals.

SENSEI MAUREEN NIXON
2ND DAN - INSTRUCTOR
Sensei Maureen Nixon started training in 1985 under the style of Wado-Ryu.
She gained her black belt in 1991 and her 2nd Dan in 2004.
Maureen started teaching Karate at the United Services Club shortly after it was opened.
Under Sensei Tony Gray, Maureen is the clubs assistant instructor specialising in Beginners and Juniors.
Maureen is a qualified school teaching Instructor, with over 17 years experience with young children.

SENSEI LEE ROSE
2ND DAN - INSTRUCTOR
Lee started training in 1994 age 6 at the United Services Club. He attained his 1st Dan Black belt 2001 and his 2nd Dan Black Belt in 2003. Lee is an insured instructor under UK Coaching.
Lee won bronze at the British Karate Championships 2003 in Kumite. He is also the British Championship silver medallist 2005/2006.
He has won many open and regional championship titles, and he has become the Association Kata & Kumite champion on several Occasions.
Lee made the Karate England southern regional squad after many years of dedication and trains on the KE squad sessions.
Lee teaches a class at the Parkside Community Centre on Thursdays. E-mail for info.

SENSEI LEIGH SANDERS
1ST DAN - INSTRUCTOR

Leigh started Karate at the United services club Barking in 2002 and gained his black belt in 2007 on the K.D.I. Cambersands weekend course under Sensei Carl Lindley 5th Dan & Sensei Tony Gray 4th Dan.
Leigh got to the final of the 1st KE English all styles National Championships in the Masters openweight category gaining a Silver medal in 2006.
Classes every Saturday morning 11am till 12pm, Dagenham working mens club, 121 broadstreet.

SEMPAI EMMA O'CALLAGHAN
2ND DAN - ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR
Emma started training in 1999 at the United Services club under Sensei Tony Gray 4th Dan gaining her Shodan 1st Dan black belt in 2003, Emma’s Impressive Kumite results are due to her hard work and dedication, she is a regular member of the English National Cadet/Junior Karate Squad. Emma was selected for the Senior Squad for the Finland World Championships in 1997 aged just 18 years, old, Emma received her 2nd Dan in December 2005 under Sensei Tyrone Whyte,6th Dan Carl Lindley 5th & Tony Gray 4th Dan. Emma is currently at college & work, studying and enjoys music, socializing & Karate.
